10 Steps To On-Boarding


Now that we have hired our awesome new Chiropractic Assistant (You), here is our 10-step process for on-boarding. This step should not be confused with training, as this is a separate and just as important process for the success of your practice. Note, the steps in this process do not need to be chronological, but instead simply complete all steps in order to be fully on-board.


STEP 1: Complete Your Team Member File

Be sure to assist in creating a personal and confidential employee file where these documents will live securely locked up.

Documents to download, complete, sign & file the first week:

Employee Handbook

I9 Form

• Valid License/Passport/SS Card (for the I9 form)

• Signed offer letter (if our agreement was verbal or electronic)

• Square Registration, including Direct Deposit and W4 Tax Form (emailed directly to you)

• Download the free Square Team App (PIN will be provided by Office Management)

STEP 2: Complete New Hire Orientation

Leverage the New Hire Orientation Culture Deck to review and showcase the key cultural elements that make our practice extraordinary! This is important for setting the stage for cultural expectations, MINDSET, and attitude.


STEP 3: Download Your Training Score Card and key performance indicators

Use the Vertical Chiropractic® Score Card to UNDERSTAND the Top 3 Objectives and the Top Priorities/ Action Steps for YOUR TRAINING PROGRAM. This is a critical step to outline the most essential FOCUS STEPS: Responsibilities, Key Performance Indicators (Key Metrics), Baseline Goals.


STEP 4: Enroll In The Black-Belt Academy

Equip yourself with our own access to our online Training Academy. This platform will be the key reference point for your CA’s training immediately. This is our office standard, and it is yours to live by. We highly recommend you get started at home on your own time.


STEP 5: Download THE C.A. Competency Checklist

Every new CA is assigned a Competency Checklist. This will outline your BASELINE Training Curriculum and serve as an accountability mechanism to track your training progress. This checklist will include your training schedule, MODULES, and non-negotiable attendance, preparation, and performance AKA Role Playing. NOTICE There are several ROLE examples for Chiropractic assistants including Check-In/Check-Out and Tech Ca’s within the Black Belt CA Academy.


STEP 6: Experience The Office Tour

Schedule yourself to listen and learn the New Patient Office Tour with an experienced CA. Tours should be worked on weekly with monthly Q & A sessions until proficiency is reached. Utilize our online training platform and evaluate performance at our Team Board Meeting with how confident you feel with giving the tour.


STEP 7: Understand Our Website

Access Your Local Vertical Chiropractic website. It is important for you to know how to navigate the website, embody our mission, understand our brand of chiropractic care, and where New Patients can go to access and print NP forms. Also, write and turn in BY EMAIL a 3 to 5-sentence Bio for the website within week 1.


STEP 8: Attend Weekly Team Board Meetings

Be certain to attend our weekly virtual team meeting on Wednesdays where we stay connected, grow, learn new tools, better ourselves, plan for the future, and go farther faster together.


STEP 9: certify and Complete 30-Day Training Program

Complete the 30 Day Vertical CA Training Program. This series is designed specifically to be a great starting point for any new hire or our CA that is new to the Vertical Chiropractic standards and systems. It is possible to have our new hire begin this online series from home prior to our start date for a faster on-boarding process.


STEP 10: Create New patient Experience

After you graduate from our 30-day training program, We want to invite you to enter through our own New Patient Process. This is NOT a training exercise - this is YOUR OWN NP EXPERIENCE. upon completing your onboarding and as an official certified vertical team member, you are eligible to receive the benefit of complementary chiropractic care.
